why to buy a better camera?

I am an entry level photographer and own a Canon A60, a point&shoot camera. while it is a great camera with perfect lens and many options to take semi-professional shots; I feel I need a better camera. but why? I seek for more detailed answers to myself to go to spend some thousands of euros on those devices. otherwise it would be just a matter of consu-mania.
